The clients are a couple with two kids. Considering the preference of the clients, the design team decides to center on modern style, aiming to present the concept of “less is more”. Overall, the space is colored in a neutral tone, with clean cuts weaving through. Simple colors, exquisite porcelain slabs, and AICA panels are selected to ensure that the space appears to be minimalistic but also luxurious. The feature of the space is the switchable privacy glass. The glass could be adjusted freely to allow or prevent others from seeing through, protecting the clients’ privacy while providing options for an open space. While other rooms are designed in a calm and restrained style, the dining room is meant to possess different characteristics, so that it outshines others as the core area of the mansion. To capture a sense of warmth, the designers build the dining room with wooden materials, emphasizing the key point of the place and family activities. The designer chooses to build a semi open kitchen by segmenting an area from the dining room with only a glass sliding door, so the kitchen would be regarded as an extension of the dining room. Furthermore, the team selected environmentally protective materials for renovation, so as to contribute to protecting our planet.
