Immersed in gray shades

Modernity and simplicity transform this multi-level living space into a chic, and harmonized setting. Without flashy ornaments, a neat and pure environment is created using stone and wood as the base. In this single house, the second floor is the public area that promotes bonds with family members, while the third and fourth floors are private areas. The functions of each floor are carefully designed.

Black, gray and white set the main tone of the public area. The grayish-white marble flooring reproduces the delicate and precious effect of crystal. The interweaving of black and white blocks adds a sense of magnificence and grandeur to the TV wall. The hanging large TV wall lightens up a heavy volume. At the bottom, the reflective gray mirror creates foreground and background layers. To eliminate the monotony and coldness of an achromatic space, the wood TV cabinet and the wall behind the sofa add warmth. On the wall behind the sofa, a recessed platform provides space for displaying house owner’s favorite items. A black mirror is attached to the dining table to add depth through its reflection. To echo with the neat spatial framework, straight metal trims subtly divide the black mirror and offset heavy and oppressive dark colors. The delicate ceiling grooves are in tune with the modern and minimalist structure. The open living room and dining room are defined by the wood grating on the canopy. To keep a sense of transparency, the sliding glass door in the kitchen divides the spaces but still allows them to be linked together. In this seemingly unobstructed layout, clear segments are created by mixing different materials.
