STRIKE the 2.0 Collection

January 19, 2024: Chad Dorsey Design introduces STRIKE 2.0, a second collection of bespoke, handcrafted, and sculptural stone fireplaces that continues designer Chad Dorsey’s exploration of monumental mantels that embrace the natural beauty of their materials.

Tapping into his deep design appreciation for honest materiality and longstanding connections with quarries, Dorsey first launched STRIKE in 2019, carving large, hand-selected blocks into heroically proportioned yet elegant alternatives to the market’s overwhelmingly traditional fireplace offerings.

STRIKE 2.0 expands on that inaugural line with eight new, entirely customizable designs that, for the first time, feature at least three stone and marble parts. Each design delights in the proportion, texture, and geometry of its natural components, and allows for playful combinations of material and finish that set the mood of a room. The fireplaces and mantels are scaled to fit a range of design project applications, from creating a luxe central hearth in the living room of a private home to providing a warm, inviting adjacency for the best seat in the house in a high-end restaurant or hotel.

“The new collection is focused on the visual magic that is born from combinations of different stones,” said designer Chad Dorsey. “I conceived of each interlocking piece as an artifact. When fit together with other textured, striated, or veined fragments, they form a monument of design that imbues the room with a luxurious yet cozy feel.”

Because each STRIKE 2.0 fireplace is constructed of more pieces than those in the debut collection, it is possible to mix and match secondary and tertiary materials and finishes to create a unique, sophisticated, and texturally rich focal point for any room in the house. Smaller components also mean the fireplaces can be transported and installed on-site with greater ease.
