Bucolic Embrace

In harmony with the gentle sunlight and the lush hillside greenery, this residence results in a refreshing and natural circumstance. The interplay of warm and rustic wood tones, complemented by the delicate texture of the wall surfaces, elegantly delineates a serene and concise ambiance. Within this space, intangible yet palpable tranquility allows inhabitants to immerse themselves in a peaceful and comforting atmosphere, shedding away any inner turmoil.



Considering the homeowner’s desire for open and spacious surroundings, the designer strategically removed the original sofa back wall and set up a timber grid door, creating an airy open floor plan. Leveraging the sense of fluidity evoked by curved lines, the design guides the gaze with a lively curved TV wall. The existing floor-to-ceiling windows introduce lush scenery indoors and become an inviting entry image. Harmonizing with outdoor greenery, the fern green accent wall of the tranquil tatami room extends the spatial perception outward like tendrils into the forest, achieving a bright abode that exudes elegance and grandeur.



In line with the existing dark wooden flooring, this project incorporates a wooden raised platform, cabinetry, and sliding door, complemented by beige walls and light wooden ceilings near the windows. From bottom to top, a gradient of tones is layered, combined with rounded and polished corners and variations in ceiling height, eliminating sharp angles and visual bulk while fostering a gentle and laid-back ambiance. Enhanced by the diverse textures and linear features of coating and timber grid doors, it presents a layering and pure composition. Within the living room, a carpet reminiscent of splash ink painting is paired ingeniously with the weathered work desk retained from the old residence, creating a harmonious blend with the homeowner’s passion for calligraphy, crafting a home infused with cultural charm and personalization.
