The Flux-Charger is an innovative ceiling-mounted EV charging service system designed to enhance space usage at EV charging stations and address the inefficiencies caused by extended charging times. The system features a centralized AC-to-DC module that supplies direct current (DC) to multiple chargers. These chargers are mounted on an overhead track and utilize wireless power transfer technology, eliminating the clutter of cables found in traditional ceiling-mounted charging systems. This design also removes the need for individual charging piles, as the chargers can move freely along the track to where they are needed. A key function of the accompanying app allows users to send a "handover" request to the previous user, requesting them to unlock the charging cable once their car has finished charging. This functionality minimizes wait times and overtime fees, thereby maximizing charging efficiency and overall utilization of the charging station.

Current charging setups require substantial space as each spot needs its own charging pile with a built-in AC-DC converter, contributing to higher costs. User experience issues arise when drivers finish charging but cannot return to their cars promptly. Even with overtime fees, this can lead to long wait times during peak hours.

FLUX-CHARGER tackles these challenges with a “centralized power converter + mobile charging cart” design that optimizes energy distribution and reduces manufacturing costs. These chargers are mounted on an overhead track, enabling them to move to required spots, thus minimizing space and the number of chargers needed. Unlike traditional ceiling-mounted systems, mobile carts use wireless power transfer technology for free movement along the track, which also has multiple passing bays to accommodate oncoming carts.

Each charging cart features an automatic lift system and a retractable cable to suit various vehicle heights, along with an ergonomic 45° handle for user comfort. A rail-based protection system ensures stable cable retraction. The accompanying app enhances user experience by allowing reservations and payments, helping locate available stations, and minimizing wait times. A unique “handover” function enables users to request cable transfer, further reducing wait times and maximizing charging efficiency.
