The project, Industrial Jungle, is a co-working space created from the renovation of a 678 square meters old building near Taipei Main Station. The design uses the dual imagery of jungle × industry to craft a rugged yet refined workplace.
Three highlights define the project: the backdrop wall inspired by Taipei Station, the forest-like green wall, and the expanded mesh ceiling—together balancing aesthetics and function. The plan integrates a reception counter, central discussion island, and flexible configurations within a U-shaped layout, ensuring over 80% natural daylight.
Users described the atmosphere as warm and layered, with natural interaction occurring effortlessly. The project faced challenges due to the building’s age, requiring repeated design iterations and structural corrections. Sustainable materials and reduced-construction methods, including the use of large tiles in place of stone and energy-saving lighting and HVAC systems, reflect a commitment to environmental responsibility. Ultimately, this shared workspace became a tranquil “island of light” within the city’s jungle, where design and nature coexist.
