Hotel Hankyu GRAN RESPIRE OSAKA

GRAND GREEN OSAKA is a large-scale redevelopment project located on the north side of JR Osaka Station. Based on the planning concept of creating an “Osaka MIDORI LIFE”—a fusion of “greenery” and “innovation”—this mixed-use development is garnering attention as a new urban hub where nature and city life coexist in harmony.
The south wing of this facility now houses HOTEL HANKYU GRAN RESPIRE OSAKA, a space designed around the concept of a “Natural State,” offering guests a peaceful retreat from the bustle of the city. GARDE, a global provider of comprehensive interior design, consulting, and coordination services, oversaw the concept design, interior design, design development, and design supervision for the entire hotel. Over the course of approximately six years, we created a serene environment where the city and nature coexist in harmony.
This design, based on the concept of “Natural State”—a comfortable urban retreat offering relaxation and peace—explores a harmonious connection between the hotel and Umekita Park within GRAND GREEN OSAKA.
The hotel's overall color scheme is unified in earthy tones, and greenery is incorporated throughout to create a space that feels closer to nature. At the hotel entrance, guests are welcomed by floor-to-ceiling greenery and a planting display featuring real logs, arranged to enhance the sense of harmony between nature and the interior. This design heightens the anticipation of entering the calming environment that awaits inside.
In addition, the lighting level changes from day to night, with dimmer lighting in the evening drawing the eye toward the surrounding greenery. This creates an environment where guests can unwind and enjoy a truly relaxing stay.
Although the project spanned over five and a half years, we take great pride in having carried through the original design concept of “Natural State” from beginning to end. We believe this vision has been fully realized in Hotel Hankyu GRAN RESPIRE OSAKA, a new brand that combines the restful healing (“REST”) and revitalizing energy (“INSPIRE”) of RESPIRE, enhanced by the elegance and sophistication implied by the name “GRAN.”
