The perfect blend of sophisticated design and rugged purpose, the Cricket Overland from TAXA Outdoors is a lightweight, NASA-inspired habitat-on-wheels built to immerse users in nature without compromising on livability.

Traditional RVs have largely evolved to be overbuilt mobile homes-- spaces that bring the indoors along rather than enabling users to leave them behind. The Cricket Overland disrupts that model by providing everything adventurers need but nothing more. Every design decision has a purpose, often multiple, and architectural thinking guides how the habitat encourages occupants to integrate, engage, and interact with the natural world and one another.

At 15 feet long and less than 2,000 lbs, the Cricket Overland is compact enough to fit in a standard garage, and light enough to tow behind many station wagons or crossovers. Its off-road hitch and lifted, axle-less suspension give it 14” of ground clearance, so it will comfortably tag along virtually anywhere most cars can drive.

At camp, swing up the rear hatch, open the spacious windows, and tilt the entire roof up at the front. In seconds, you have an open-air living space boasting abundant natural light and a roomy 6’10” of standing room. Inside, the Cricket Overland features sleeping room for four, integrated plumbing and electrical systems, climate control, gear storage, and a living space that converts from functional kitchen, to bedroom, to office space seamlessly.

Beyond functionality, TAXA looks at sustainable design holistically. The Cricket Overland is built with premium materials to maximize life-cycle, and its uniquely space efficient, lightweight layout means owners rarely need to purchase dedicated tow vehicles or storage solutions.

Garrett Finney began prototyping the Cricket after a decade as a space architect at NASA. Now, as founder and Chief Designer at TAXA Outdoors, Finney still draws on the engineering expertise he developed enabling astronauts to thrive in space. The Cricket Overland embodies the pinnacle of this design ethos, and the result is a mobile habitat with an unmatched balance of versatility, durability, efficiency, and cost-effective construction.
