About The Entry

Located in what used to be the historic Nangang Bottle Cap Factory that was built in in 1943, this concept store in Taipei leverages this special historical context as the design element. We cleverly combines a cafè and road bike shop into a composite commercial space.

The design concept of this project draws inspiration from the bike chain as the reference configuration and fashions the bar counter into the shape of an infinity sign, a symbol that is in line with the client’s brand spirit.

In selecting interior design materials, we used scrap excavator chain tracks as the bar counter structure and surface decoration material. In addition, Taiwan cedar panels are treated with the traditional firing technique, which are then decorated with spray-painted logos to augment the overall ambience. The natural cedar pillars serve as display counters to showcase products while also offering the illusion of a forest for this cafè that touts the image of deer.
