Changsha Xiyayun Private Residence

"Seeking for the vitality of design and creating trending force in a modest way", the private residence of Changsha Xiyayun designed by Yan Cang studio, is a full-demolition project of a duplex house. To meet the condition of three generations living together, the designer meticulously selects contrasting materials and decorations to create a minimal and comfortable living space. The light luxury marble, juxtaposed with wood finish in a warm tone, have been selected as the major materials, while in terms of the color palette, the overall space is enshrouded with black, white and gray, which is in line with the modern and stylish home design trends.



Baxter's special-shaped sofa, round table, furry chair and special-shaped dining table with chair endows the space with modern, minimal aesthetic, whilst the background painting with fiber art decoration comes from “The Injured Rabbit” by the artist Shen Jingdong, introducing the touch of art and color to the overall design. The interior of the master bedroom is applied with straight lines, in order to break this boundary, the designer chose with French style to create a warm, soft sense for the soft decoration, coupled with the Ligne Roset Ruche’s bed and single chair covered with unique folds. The design of the children room aspires to generate a space for kids to grow freely with imagination, with this to capture, an indoor climbing installation was set in, and the ceiling adopts a "cloud" shape, in the meantime, the bed is designed as a "wooden house".
