EYAS KIDS LEARNING ACADEMY(TAIPEI ROAD, WUHAN)

Kindergarten is the first stop for children to perceive the world. The design team and the client reached a consensus on the positioning of this project, as both hoped this place to be objective and authentic. Instead of looking like a playground, the kindergarten should be simple, bright and not overly protective, while also emphasizing aesthetic education and artistry.

Natural light is brought into the classrooms as much as possible. As the outdoor activity space for children is very limited, the design team removed all unnecessary walls in the communal area, to release space for children's free activities. Between the remaining dense and irregular structural walls, a floating bridge representing the unknown, suspense and hope is set up to make the space fluid. The design creates various spatial experiences and circulation routes, and allows daylight or lighting to softly brighten every corner of the architectural space. The goal of the design is to let the space stimulate children to explore and to feel the beauty of nature and art, so as to promote healthy growth of their body, intelligence and mentality.
