At the Gwandu plain where two rivers of the Taipei city converge, the owner seeks for a living of tranquility with elegance and grandiosity. In order to meet the needs of the residents, the designer set the interior’s tone as semi-luxurious lifestyle amidst natural surroundings. The outwardly squarish layout and inwardly rounded frames combine with a Zen charm, fulfilling the ideal living the residents have in mind. Its restrained grace of the textures and precise linear arrangement all contribute to such a grand aura to the loft.

In order to extend the peaceful atmosphere infinitely in the ambience for one to stroll around the living space, the designer applies earth tone and gray shades palette with black lines to delineate. Light colored marble flooring, integrated with granite walls, wooden grains, offering serenity and graciousness to the visual. Metallic embellishments shine with glows, while the French windows invite more natural landscape inside. Changes of light and shadow project on the selective furniture as the best footnote, adding a semi-luxurious vibe to the space.

Applying “circle” as a symbol of union and a conscious design layout to frame the living room and the dining, the circular multilayers of the ceiling visually creates a sense of depth. With dark lines on the stone flooring as the traffic flows, the intuition guides residents along, creating a harmonious neatness to the transitions of different functional areas. The circular shapes used in the living room vertically correspond to each other, from bottom to above. This design allows not only horizontal movements in the living space, but also reflection, projection and extension perpendicularly.

The riverside view echoes with the symmetrical TV marble wall in the front and the back of the sofa area. Integrated with ancestral tablet and buddhist shrine, the designer arranges ventilator and storage rooms to help fit the installation in this semi-luxurious living space.
