Mar Adentro Table

Mar Adentro (Out to sea) is a dining table made to stimulate our senses. Boldness and tradition, memory and innovation, all coexist in a design that plays with the viewer's visual perception. Through illusions of movement resulted from a geometry that drinks from sources ranging from Op Art to the fish pens on the beaches of Alagoas, the table causes the impact of a kinetic sculpture, taking on different shapes depending on the angle from which it is observed.

The beaches of Northeastern Brazil have traces of ancient fishing traditions called Currais de Peixes. With wooden stakes and artisanal nets, the fishermen built labyrinths that, during high tide, attracted fish to their interior. Replaced by more modern fishing practices, what remains are the ruins of this culture. These structures still make up the paradisiacal landscapes of the Northeastern Brazilian shores. In order to preserve such rich culture, we rescued this memory by eternalizing it as the base format of a table, thus awakening affective memories of those who have let themselves get lost in the vastness of Brazil’s beaches.

Designed with the highest technology and produced with the mastery and exclusivity of handmade work, the Mar Adentro table shows a union in which innovation and tradition go hand in hand. As a decorative element, the possibilities for customizing the table are surprising, with a choice of tops of different sizes and materials, such as wood, marble, granite and glass, both in rectangular and oblong formats. The reinforced steel base, in addition to being sculptural, comes in a variety of colors.
