House with a garden

The planned site this time is an old residential area with many houses.

The surrounding houses are all built at the same time.

The exterior is made of similar industrial material.

We wanted to change the uniform cityscape in an old residential area while coordinating with the cityscape.

We also designed it to be an open house while living in an urban area.

I thought about how to build an open and comfortable house by building a house compactly and creating a margin on the site.

For the outer wall, the wooden outer wall material was lightly colored in gray.

The texture like concrete gives a modern impression even though it is made of wood.

I also thought that the old wood and the colors that seemed to change over time would fit into the streets of old houses.

As for the composition of the house, we adopted two gardens.

On the first floor, we created a courtyard surrounded by a concrete wall.

On the second floor, we made a roof terrace and surrounded it with a wooden lattice and an outer wall.

All the rooms have been placed in these two gardens.

The two gardens create a private space.

There is no need for blindfolds such as curtains.

The connection with the outside will be strengthened positively.

Feel the nature while staying in the house.

We thought that feeling nature in our daily lives was an open home.
