About The Entry

The highlight of this design is that we recreate the traditional dwellings in client's memory with materials of the time. Yinziwu, traditional houses in Yunnan, are combined with modern space design techniques while the original architectural pattern is retained, with the office centering on the dooryard in the middle. The walls are made of rammed earth rather than traditional materials, and plants and pine trees are used to copy the house's vegetation in memory. With streamline exhibition frame, the whole space is connected. The stone ground with rubble of thie old house, however, is reserved. A 100 percent of restoration of old house is created as a result.

How to restoration the materials and feeling towards the space is a hard part in the design. Our practice, such as restore the texture of the material with material choosing and on-site processing, and recreate the space feeling of old house with the use of woody materials and rammed earth, has achieved a good result, realizing a unification between modern materials and traditional design. Furthermore, the wallpaper on the background wall, which is made by sketching and hand-drawing based on the client's memory of his hometown, restores the original scene of the village on the one hand, and wakes memory of childhood on the other.

Thanks to the French windows in the room, the natural and simple teahouse is transparent and bright. With the exception of provide first-rate service, teahouse also functions as a place where people take delight in their reverie and in tea-drinking itself. Snatching a bit of leisure from a busy schedule, making a kettle of strong tea, securing a serene space, and serving and drinking tea by yourself can help banish fatigue and frustration, improve your thinking ability and inspire you with enthusiasm. A tranquil, refreshing, comfortable and neat locale is certainly desirable for drinking tea, and Lianer Courtyard Teahouse is exactly the one that people can rest and recreate themselves.
