About The Entry

Heritage Hikarigaoka is a common two-storied houses for-sale development in residential area of Tokyo. The site area and the floor area is about 100~110㎡ each, and the total number of houses is 9.

Estimated to be over 80 years old, the tree has fascinated people for many years.

We believe, it is our mission to design to pass on this tree to the next generation, so we planned to take advantage of the view of this tree.In the development of detached housing in Japan, we typically tear down everything old on the property and build new development. But not this time, we designed by reusing the old tree and old stones that have created a beautiful landscape for nearly a century. We thought it will be an asset to inherit the old ones.

Therefore, we decided to incorporate a borrowed landscape by creating a Japanese modern taste in the streetscape, and by devising how the living spaces are positioned and presented in relation to each other.

We sincerely hope that through the emotionally rich lifestyle with a great historical tree, it will be loved by the next generation for many years to come.
