Rhythm and Culture

This project is the renovation of a single-story old residence, with an actual area of about 165 square meters.

As the original building was in poor condition, we prioritized renewing infrastructure construction to reinforce the building condition and reshape the layout and lines of movement, including creating an open common area.

Entering through the foyer, a bright and spacious common area is horizontally extended from it. An open reading area is planned at the front end of the corridor, naturally extending the sofa area through a combination of techniques for real and virtual perspectives. Embedded light strips are used to resolve the oppressive atmosphere in the corridor and guide the line of movement. The 90-degree bookshelf walls cleverly conceal the structural column.

The living room is close to the island dining counter, serving gathering and leisure needs. The main visual is created from the TV wall made from staggered grooved stone materials of differentiated textures and a large back-lit display in the dining room. The entire residence is installed with hidden hanging air conditioners, and the left side includes a cabinet in place of a wall partition, integrating shoe cabinet, electronic closet and storage in a single module.

The bed in the master bedroom, dressing and changing room and master bathroom are interconnected. For the bed, the top and bottom of the headboard integrates grilled lines with soft leather cushioning for extra sophistication. The changing room adopts warm wood textures interleaved with gold details. The master bathroom is enlarged and made from gray and white gold-speckled stone-patterned bricks, matched with a double countertop and copper-gold hardware to exude a low-key luxury aesthetic in full view.
