Remedy Place NYC

Remedy Place is a wellness sanctuary and social club in the heart of New York’s Flatiron District. As a successor to the inaugural Los Angeles outpost, the 6,500-square-foot Manhattan flagship radiates opulence and richness conceived to offset stress and uplift spirits. It is a club that is temptation and toxin-free, that enhances health and social life at the same time. It offers functional medicine consultations, where a trained medical professional examines factors like diet, genetics, and lifestyle components when treating pain and illness. Remedy Place aims to be a comforting, well-designed place where people can be around friends and foster a sense of gathering and community.

The goal was to create a transformative space both architecturally and functionally, so our design aims to provide an environment for solitude and reflection, a space that encourages internal focus and healing. Remedy Place is a brutalist interior where minimalist form meets maximal texture and refined detailing. A neutral, zen color palette provides immediate serenity complemented by an abundance of greenery and moody dim lighting. Curving, rounded furniture edges follow the human form allowing for complete rest and relief. Japanese Wabi-Sabi aesthetic has a strong presence here, with organic simplicity and use of humble, natural materials. Matte black fixtures provide strong lines that contour the minimalist space. Texture throughout the space works to enhance the flow and movement of energy. The retreat is outfitted with textural, smoky Venetian plaster installed to block radio frequencies and electromagnetic interferences. Warm, gray-washed woods further complement the neutral aesthetic, while sensuous fabrics like suede and soft leather promote relaxation as they wrap plush seating set beneath warm lighting. From archways to sofas and ceramics, soft lines instill a layer of intimacy. Remedy Place is really pushing boundaries in the approach to designing holistic health + wellness spaces - with offerings and an environment that hasn’t been executed before. We were thrilled to enter into a new frontier with Dr. Leary and push design boundaries for this industry.
