"Boost" for Freedom, "Anticipate” a Better Life

The Baoan Marketing Place is located on Bao'an Road, West District, Chiayi City. Since its opening on November 6, 2006, it has become an important gathering place for nearby residents to shop and socialize. However, the lack of effective management over the years has resulted in disorder and bad traffic, also made the place not recognizable. In light of this, our design integrates graphic signage and a minimalist spatial concept to reshape the market's image and improve the customer experience. A specially developed mascot named "Little Basket" has been integrated into the redesign of Bao’an Market's facade and interior painting, serving as a representative symbol. This incorporation ensures a harmonized spatial color scheme that enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the market. To tackle various issues such as unclear signage, unauthorized vehicle parking, and improper waste disposal, a comprehensive identification system has been implemented in key areas of the market. This system effectively addresses these concerns and promotes a more organized and efficient environment. The previously unused spaces within the market have been imaginatively transformed into inviting public facilities. These revitalized areas serve as welcoming gathering spots for both residents and visitors, providing a pleasant environment for socializing, chatting, and relaxation. Moreover, the market has taken measures to ensure ample lighting is installed for night time activities. This initiative allows the market to operate seamlessly throughout the day, enhancing the overall experience and attracting a wider range of visitors. By doing so, we create an environment that embodies the ideals of "boost for freedom, anticipate a better life.”
