Blossom Kapok: Changzhou Island Toll Station

As the starting point of the Xinhua Expressway, the Changzhou Island Toll Station is a vital gateway that not only provides seamless access to the scholarly University Town in the Pazhou district, but also an important portal to the central urban area in the south of Guangzhou.

Drawing inspiration from the city's iconic flower, the Kapok, the design thoughtfully honors the city's deep-rooted history while embracing its bright and flourishing future. The elegant hyperbolic rain canopy artfully captures the essence of delicate flower petals cascading gently from above.

Employing BIM technology, the project expertly fuses intricate design, modeling, structure, and material components, substantially decreasing construction time and minimizing disruptions to traffic flow.

The Changzhou Island Toll Station defies conventional notions of toll station design, proudly standing as a new urban landmark and gateway for the vibrant city of Guangzhou.
