ILPICCO HOUSE 15

In Confucianism, human is an integral part of nature. Living with balance with nature is the true celestial beauty of living. To celebrate the magnificent landscape and the harmony emanated in the neighborhood, modern Chinese style is the key design direction for House 15.





‘方圓 ; 正對’, ‘Contrast and balance’, reveals the poetic narration of the concept and the composition of the design. While balance is achieved in the symmetric arrangement of wall finishes, curvy and round-shaped loose furniture contrasts with the rectangular wall paneling and feature, yet adds on a sense of harmony in the space as a whole.





In the living room, grey and beige wall finishes with embellishment of blue décor creates a peaceful atmosphere. Chinese elements are blended in a subtle way through the details and pattern of the chequered resin panel and screen. Among the rectangular elements, cluster of circles gather above the dining table become the focal point on the G/F. More importantly, light and shadow casted through the screens creates intimate spatial interaction with the exterior.





On the 1/F, the bedrooms are featured with the imposing Chinese style.

The secondary master bedroom is opened to a panoramic view of the hill ridges and sea. Chinese painting printed on leather narrates the thrifty and bustle life of old days. The scale of the drawings not only demonstrates sophistication, but also captures and reflects opposite view of landscape. Earth tone color highlighted with mustard-yellow and green furniture further enhance the fusion of the interior spatial quality and the scenery outside.





The concept of contrast and balance continues to be unfolded in the master bedroom. Structure is well-defined with the bold stainless steel frames while softness is found in the feature wallpaper and rug with conceptualized patterns of the Chinese landscape drawings.
