Shaoxing Yuntai Park

The distinctive vertical village form of Shaoxing Yuntai Park strikes a dynamic silhouette and creates a sustainable commercial Landmark for the city of Shaoxing.

Located in the most prosperous commercial center of Shangyu district, the five story building faces Jiangyang Road and Huanzhu Road. Together with the existing large shopping center on the north side it reflects the bustling street life in this area.

The vision of the design is to create an open village, interact with the surrounding urban space and create a prosperous pedestrian atmosphere. This concept comes from the high-density small-scale pedestrian street system of the Shaoxing ancient city.

The building frontage alongside the street remains consistent and the volume is cut into seven buildings of different sizes by streets and small squares inside. They are linked together through corridors and escalators, which provide people with rich spatial experience on the three-dimensional level.

Greens are introduced into every corner of the building from the basement to the roof. The roof of all buildings are connected by a sky path, where people can walk, rest, communicate and overlook the beautiful scenery of the city.
