About The Entry

This project comprises a series of public sculpture designs, drawing inspiration from the three major social sciences of humanity: nature, humanities, and technology. It integrates elements of traditional Chinese public architectural components, such as horse-tethering posts, dougong brackets, and traditional furniture like the taishi chair, named Lookout Pillar, Stacking Bases, and King Chair respectively. Dr. Tam's design team aims to reinterpret these elements through innovative modern design techniques, honoring history, inheriting culture, and conveying China's artistic philosophy and spiritual outlook in the new era to the world.

As an ecological sculpture work that is cultural, artistic, ecological, and distinctive, the expression of the low-carbon concept is primarily reflected in the material and application of the work. This series of sculptures adhere to the principle of sustainable development. Through hot-melt molding, they achieve the recycling and reuse of waste stone materials. The environmentally friendly glazed ceramic material (CN107601867A) used has high safety performance and is environmentally friendly. At the same time, the integration of traditional techniques, such as the application of lacquerware, gives the entire sculpture a sense of mottled time, breathing new life into traditional culture.

Moreover, the entire series of sculptures is designed with exquisite and elegant techniques, incorporating faceted splicing, built-in lighting, and the application of intelligent multimedia language. This innovative approach breaks down barriers in the application of media materials in the domestic sculpture field, promoting the diversified development of multimedia language in sculpture. Through the efforts of Dr. Tam's design team, this series of sculptures have become artistic creations that integrate tradition with modernity, culture with technology, sustainable development with innovative interpretation.
