The project is located in Huacao Town, Shanghai. “Huacao” derives its name from the cannal river in Huating County. Culture emerges from water, and cities thrive because of it. The project blends the charm of Jiangnan water towns with canal culture, creating an immersive experience. It aims to create a contemporary, stylish, and elegant luxury residence, serving as a modern oriental interpretation of the Jiangnan water town.

The design captures the essence of the Jiangnan water town's “small bridges and flowing water, misty rain” and incorporates the enduring charm of the ancient canal with its “water wave and long history”. It brings a picturesque landscape into the site, resonates with contemporary living through its intrinsic qualities and spirit. The landscape design, with “one axis, three belts, and four gardens”, embodies the refined and exquisite lifestyle of Jiangnan.

The design finds a balance between Jiangnan and contemporary aesthetics, and between complexity and simplicity. Guided by water, it weaves through pavilions and corridors, introduces characteristic elements of Jiangnan water towns such as floating bridges and docks. Embracing both the “essence” and “structure”, it creates a misty, rain-drenched painting of verdant waves. The luxurious and elegant quality of noble stones, the interplay of light and shadow through latticework, the customized delicate lights, and the ethereal liveliness of water-patterned glass collectively create an integrated, custom symbol that shapes a space of opulent elegance and serene authenticity.
