About The Entry
Swirling printed matter, a huge money roll, and a letter mobile - three eye-catching art installations in a former seven-centuries-old church. Graphic collages of banknotes and stamps that decorate and dim the light of the massive gothic windows. Interactives in which visitors design their own money. Studio Louter and Todd van Hulzen designed all these elements for the exhibition ‘Joh. Enschedé, Printers of Value’ in the Noord-Hollands Archief (Archive of the province of North-Holland). It celebrates the craftsmanship of Joh. Enschedé, a more than 300-year-old family printing business from Haarlem. For years, the company was responsible for producing the Dutch guilders and stamps.
We used the church setting to create an awe-inspiring presentation that helps visitors to discover all aspects of this centuries-old company. We involve the visitors in appreciating the delicate techniques and craftsmanship of printing.
