About The Entry

As for the functionality planning of a one-story apartment, the designer not only need meet the daily needs of six individuals and ensure two independent studies but also had to value the customs and demands of Feng Shui in the Chinese culture.

Low visible crossbeams give the house a strong tiny feel, so the designer defines the compartments implicitly by circles to hide the position of the beams and columns, which can also implicitly define the spatial function and scope. The designer hides thick crossbeams and ugly tubes and wires on the top of the TV wall and at the boundary of the 2 semicircles in the dining room. We make the living room visually high by the TV wall elevated by the crossbeam height and build a storage cabinet in the study by using the depth of the crossbeam. A bold and high mood is brought by layers and curves of circles. The layered ceiling added with the lamp bands mimics ripples outwards for a mild bright lifestyle. A fancy finish is given by diamond-shaped cutting, titanium plating and marbling.
