Free Air

Through a work of art, an urban space is freed from the burdens of its industrial past. This is an artwork that allows one to see the presence of wind and air, bringing the breath of freedom across Japan. Rooted in Ube City's history as an industrial hub, the transformation brought about by the integration of art breathes new life into the space, fostering a coexistence with nature and a shift toward greening. At the same time, with the collaboration between Japan and Taiwan in semiconductor technology, this evolution heralds a future of freedom and innovation in everyday life.

A static sculpture must convince its viewers that it is dynamic. Invisible air must be made visible through the movement of gas. Heavy metal materials, while providing a solid foundation, must also evoke a sense of lightness and freedom.
