About The Entry
London is the phone-snatching capital of Europe, with a phone stolen every six minutes. But it’s not just your device —it’s your data, your money, your identity. Most of us have our lives on those things. Thefts are a growing problem that left Londoners feeling powerless.
But there’s no such thing as a powerless Londoner.
That’s what Heavy Hands, a London-born custom jewellery studio, set out to prove with THE UNSNATCHABLE—a phone case armed with 103 anti-theft spikes, forged in the fury of the city and crafted in sterling silver. A statement at the crossroads of fashion, art, and protest. Designed to be seen, not touched.
The case became the centerpiece of an online campaign that grew organically to become a global icon of defiance. As it traveled across London and the world, fueled by bold, entertaining and empowering content, THE UNSNATCHABLE garnered over 100 million impressions and counting across the world, without a penny spent on media.
More than just a design, it was a cultural intervention. In a city gripped by paranoia and crime-wave headlines, Heavy Hands refused to feed the fear. Instead, they turned the problem into a proactive demonstration of joyful rebellion. The result? A shiny piece of defiance, proving that humour, protest, and a bit of shiny metal can make people feel heard—cementing Heavy Hands as part of London’s most proud tradition: the instinct to rebel.
