About The Entry

Against the backdrop of high-density development in Chengdu's urban core, the project faces the spatial challenge of dual plots divided by municipal roads. The design team adopts "Architectural Islands" as the core concept, achieving a tranquil living experience amid urban hustle through spatial reconstruction strategies, while establishing a dynamic balance between urban convenience and living quality.

The entire project site is divided into two smaller plots, posing certain challenges for the overall residential development. However, the design leverages this feature to form ground-plane islands at the center of the two sub-plots, creating a central drop-off "field" with mutually echoing design languages. The two iconic ground-level halls connect the entire underground activity space, while the underground art corridor enlivens the below-ground functional areas, significantly enhancing the linkage between the two plots.

The design logic evolves along the river and crafts landscapes in response to views, continuing the "natural" narrative through design vocabulary: each household features vertical greenery, and roof platforms are landscaped with planted finishes. The residences are enveloped by ground-level landscapes, elevated podium systems, vertical greenery, and roof material finishes.

The elevated podiums and residential landscape together form a closed, interconnected slow-circulation loop, enhancing architectural integration with the surroundings and offering occupants a comfortable, human-scale 慢行空间 (slow-circulation space). The entire ground-level system is tied together by lush landscapes, creating public activity zones with distinct characters that balance quality, natural ambiance, and the sense of harmony between people and space. In this "boundaryless" realm, the divides between architecture and landscape, and between interior and exterior, dissolve—enabling occupants to perceive nothing but the exquisite design and comfort.
