Shenzhen People's Hospital Peripheral Demolition and Resettlement Project located in Cuizhu Subdistrict, Luohu District, the project occupies a site area of 17,730 m² with a planned FAR (floor area ratio) of 6.5 and GFA of 173,320 m². As an urban renewal project primarily focused on resettlement properties, it adopts the concept of "Memory Rebirth · Future Symbiosis," creatively addressing the challenge of preserving place memory in high-density urban renewal by integrating historical context with modern residential needs.
1. Contextual Translation
The design's most notable feature is the three-dimensional reinterpretation and regeneration of a community hillside park that carries collective memories of local residents. The vanished terrain memory has been transformed into a spiritual landmark shared by the community. Through cascading horizontal design language, the project establishes a multi-dimensional vertical landscape system and integrated community service spaces at the podium level.
2. Equitable Value Distribution
The podium adopts an outward-facing street layout, which optimizes circulation while balancing the interests of commercial resettlement stakeholders. The residential towers feature a butterfly-shaped plan to mitigate the impact of surrounding existing buildings, ensuring that every resettled household enjoys equitable access to views and sunlight.
3. Community Symbiosis
Despite the high-density site constraints, the design preserves substantial public activity spaces and strategically positions them across various community interfaces. These spaces will naturally interact with residents in the future, evolving into distinctive venues with diverse themes and spatial characteristics, fostering co-development between the community and the city.
