This residence is conceived as a personalized living container for a multi-generational family, where modern simplicity and strength merge seamlessly with the enduring charm of retro elegance. The design moves beyond mere functional zoning, creating an organic spatial narrative that connects four above-ground floors and a basement through a fluid relationship with a central courtyard. This heart of the home invites nature into daily life, encouraging openness, interaction, and an emotionally rich living experience in which every family member can freely stretch, unwind, and explore their interests.
The ground floor acts as the social and connective core, combining the living, dining, and kitchen areas into a continuous flow that dissolves boundaries between indoors and outdoors. The second floor provides a serene retreat for the elderly, children, and guests, carefully balancing privacy, comfort, and accessibility. The third floor master suite achieves an elegant harmony between individuality and intimacy: two separate bedrooms respect different sleep habits, while a centrally positioned shared bathroom functions as both a connector and a private refuge. The fourth floor transforms into a flexible sanctuary for shared spiritual life — a place for lively conversations, focused work, immersive reading, tea appreciation, and personal expression. Below, the basement integrates practicality with lifestyle enhancement, directly linked to the garage and equipped with changing rooms, storage, laundry facilities, fitness space, and a home theater.
The design language distills a clear, modern tone, enriched by tactile layers of retro sophistication. Materials create a dialogue between rigidity and softness, as seen in the sculptural curved staircase crafted from customized steel plates, which also guides spatial flow. Original structural beams are reinterpreted with deep brown-black paint, embedding historical traces within a contemporary context. Elevated skirting lines and retro-style doors refine proportions and evoke timeless memories, while eucalyptus wood grain finishes and intricately detailed stone bring warmth, texture, and artistic presence. Every design gesture responds to the residents’ aesthetic sensibilities and reinforces the emotional essence of “home” — a place where love, belonging, and the freedom to live authentically are deeply rooted.
