This design aims to create a warm and healing home for local residents and visitors in Wenzhou. In response to the elderly's emotional attachment to their old homes, a large amount of recycled historical materials (such as old bricks, tiles, and wood) are used in the building facades, paving, and landscape, preserving the community's memory and bringing a sense of familiarity and belonging.
At the same time, it addresses the issue of modern people being addicted to electronic devices and thus becoming disconnected from nature and social interaction. The community encourages people to slow down and take a break from screens. The core is to create a high-greening-rate ecological environment: rich local vegetation covers the roofs, walls, and courtyards, forming green and pleasant walkways, gardens, and shared spaces. This not only effectively alleviates the urban heat island effect and improves the microclimate, but also naturally guides people to experience the four seasons,
touch the earth, and promote encounters, exchanges, and warm community connections.
In terms of construction, eco-friendly and renewable composite materials (such as bamboo plastic and recycled plastic products) are used to make some components and furniture, embodying the concept of sustainability.
