About The Entry

The Radio Universe incorporates the essence of Chanel's iconic tweed style into home furnishings, enabling a cross-border exchange between high fashion aesthetics and spatial art. Designers delve into the brand essence, translating tweed's yarns, sheen, and patterns into carpet texture, light interplay, and form. This breaks the traditional definition of carpets, balancing practical functionality with spatial artistic expression.

In terms of craftsmanship, the Radio Universe employs a special hand-tufting technique: the carpet forms a tight base with ultra-short loop piles of 5-6mm, while its stepped pile heights (8mm-15mm) vividly mimic the textured unevenness of interwoven fabric yarns; it simulates the "slub" texture—plump, independent silk loops cluster and rise three-dimensionally like pearls against the wool base, precisely replicating the nubbly texture of tweed; it features small clustered groups and scattered linear accents, enhancing an artisanal characteristic. Additionally, the carpet integrates the gentle matte finish of top-grade wool and the cool smoothness of high-luster bamboo fibers to create a dramatic contrast, recapturing the contrasting aesthetics of roughness and luxury. It also crafts subtle light and shadow effects and textural layers through gradient density, combinations of loop pile sizes, and the faint shimmer of bamboo fibers.

The Radio Universe, with its innovative weaving language and top-tier materials, emerges as a walkable, spatially dimensional interpretation on the iconic tweed style, seamlessly infusing the intricate details of high fashion into spatial art.
