Tang Town is envisioned not merely as a restaurant, but as a living work of art. Every corner of the space carries the imprint of artistry — the brushstrokes of painters, the imagination of sculptors, and the delicate craftsmanship of artisans. Renowned artists were invited to collaborate, imbuing the project with layers of meaning and creativity. Among them is Zhang Changjiang, one of China’s celebrated contemporary artists, whose works lend the space both authenticity and artistic gravitas. Sculptural installations, bespoke murals, and handcrafted decorative pieces transform the restaurant into an ever-evolving gallery — a place where visitors are not just guests, but also spectators of art.


Tang Town thus transcends its identity as a Chinese restaurant: it becomes a curated encounter between tradition and modernity, cuisine and culture, design and art — a symphony of disciplines that together redefine what luxury dining can be.


It is a living expression of modern Chinese aesthetics. The red ceiling, Chinese architectural motifs, and symbolic décor elements (like bamboo, traditional art, and statues) immediately root the restaurant in Chinese heritage.


Detail Craftsmanship


The project required a range of specialist and artisan skills, including custom carpentry and joinery for bespoke furniture, artisanal painting and murals to reflect Chinese heritage, and stone and tile craftsmanship for natural feature elements. Skilled work in metal detailing, ceiling treatments, and ambient lighting design was essential to achieve the bold visual impact, while upholstery and greenery integration added comfort and harmony. Together, these crafts created a refined interior that blends cultural authenticity with modern sophistication. The design combines grand statements (wine wall, red ceiling, bold artwork) with intimate touches (warm lighting, cozy wooden dining corners, greenery). This balance creates both a luxury dining experience and a comfortable, inviting ambiance.
