Two "Hideaway Inn" Style Detached Houses with a Non-Daily Theme
These two detached houses are designed with the concept of a "non-daily space," like a "hideaway inn." Tucked away in a quiet backstreet just a 2-minute walk from the station, their location offers the tranquility of a hidden retreat and the excitement of a special discovery. Each house is designed with a distinct concept.
"In'ei Raisan" (In Praise of Shadows): This house enjoys the interplay of light and shadow, created by soft natural light from a courtyard and skylight, along with dazzling architectural lighting.
"Tabigokoro Doma" (Traveler's Earthen Floor): This house creates a non-daily feeling of being outdoors while inside, featuring a tiled living room inspired by a traditional thoroughfare and a large open-air atrium.
In'ei Raisan (In Praise of Shadows)
This space creates shadows with faint sunlight from the courtyard and skylight, which fall on matte-colored tiles and walnut veneer flooring. The delicate space created by this natural light evokes a sense of beauty and serene relaxation. Additionally, architectural lighting is installed to illuminate walls and ceilings from angles different from natural light. By adding this brilliant, non-daily lighting, the living space is designed for you to enjoy the play of light and shadow in various moments of your life.
Tabigokoro Doma (Traveler's Earthen Floor)
This home, "Tabigokoro Doma," is designed with the scenery of a traditional earthen floor that evokes a non-daily, "away from home" feeling. Instead of just at the entrance, the act of taking off shoes is extended to the living room, which is designed like an earthen floor, before stepping up to a tiered Japanese-style room like a veranda. This arrangement allows residents to savor the "luxury of taking off one's shoes." Furthermore, a large, sun-drenched atrium reveals a sturdy, exposed beam that creates a dynamic view when you look up, giving the home a sense of outdoor openness while you are inside.
