Nxera Pharma:Creating a Space for Innovation and Integration

Nxera Pharma is a biopharmaceutical company with a research laboratory in the UK. Originating in Japan, the company is expanding globally, driven by its commitment to ‘True Breakthroughs’.

Following the merger of two former Soasei Group companies, a dedicated space was designed to foster employee integration and accelerate business growth. The concept, ‘ENERGY STREAM’, embodies Nxera Pharma’s corporate vision, ensuring that employees experience a dynamic and inspiring environment.

To bring this vision to life, the space is built around three core elements:

1.ENERGY – Vibrant colours strategically placed around the perimeter to stimulate and energise visitors.

2.MOVE – Organic furniture and flowing linear lighting that convey a sense of speed, dynamism, and acceleration.

3.NATURE – Natural materials such as real wood, plasterwork, and lush greenery, creating a harmonious and grounding atmosphere.

As part of the design process, an art workshop was held to encourage employee engagement. Employees and their families participated, with artists incorporating their painted materials into collaborative artworks. These pieces reinforce the concept of ‘energy’, making it not only a theme of the space but also a tangible part of its identity.

The renovation took place while the office remained operational, necessitating a phased approach to ensure uninterrupted productivity. Dedicated quiet areas for focused work were developed using existing fixtures and fittings. Meanwhile, a central gathering space, ‘N-Port’, was created to facilitate interaction, offering a variety of solo and team workspaces. Designed for flexibility, this area transforms seamlessly into a venue for large-scale internal events, accommodating up to 150 people.

The result is a space that embodies power, movement, and connection, providing employees and visitors alike with an energising and inspiring environment.
