Habitat Atelier

Habitat Atelier is a 360m² private residence designed by J+Studio, responsible for its complete implementation. The design responds to the client’s aesthetic aspirations, creating an open, authentic, and relaxed living environment that emphasizes the integration of sensory experience, mood, and natural atmosphere. Through precise control of light, materiality, and scale, the space achieves a balance of privacy and comfort while naturally conveying an artistic sensibility. The overall concept employs natural materials and a narrative interplay of light and shadow to establish an emotional connection among people, objects, and space.

Design Innovation

The innovation of the design is reflected in the following aspects:

First, the extensive use of travertine on walls—with its natural texture and porous surface—creates a primitive and rustic visual impression, enhancing a dialogue between the space and nature.

Second, the dining area breaks conventional norms by integrating the dining table and island bar, improving functional versatility and structural layering while accommodating the homeowner’s lifestyle.

Additionally, stone and wood veneer continue into private areas, establishing a consistent and harmonious rhythm that forms a serene background for art collections.

Custom-made wall lamps with a rough texture cast a warm glow on the façade, demonstrating a refined control of the relationship between light and materials.

Through the orchestration of details, rhythm, and lighting, the project achieves a spatial quality that is both refined and relaxed, private yet open.
