Love & Future·Minimalism, This project is a private residence renovation in Zhengzhou. The core design challenge was to overcome the inherent constraints of a mere 2.46-meter ceiling height through minimalist design language, breaking the sense of confinement and oppression, and reshaping the space into a living environment that integrates artistic beauty with emotional warmth.

During the design process, strategies of visual guidance and scenario creation were fully employed to transform structural limitations into a unique spatial narrative. A unified application of artistic paint and flooring materials forms a coherent background, highlighting three key visual focal points—the staircase, the plant landscape area, and the sofa zone—thereby diverting attention from the low ceiling through carefully constructed visual scenes.

From the entrance perspective, the living room ceiling takes the form of a perfect circle, symbolizing the concept of embracing warmth. This is complemented by a circular sofa that enhances the sense of enclosure. When seated on the sofa, the ceiling appears as a dynamic slanted elliptical form, achieving a clever transformation from static stability to dynamic richness through a single element, enriching spatial layers and perceptual diversity with simple geometric language.

The design highlight focuses on the interplay of void and solid between the floating staircase and the plant landscape. The staircase treads are designed in a floating and hollow form, with a plant area placed beneath and upward lighting installed. Light passing through the hollow treads allows the plant forms to visually penetrate the staircase, while casting swaying shadows on the tread surfaces, creating an immersive aesthetic experience where each step offers a new view, blending reality and illusion. This approach elevates the staircase beyond mere functionality, transforming it into a spatial installation that integrates landscape, art, and practicality.
