Design Concept｜Harmony in Cycle · The Way of Craftsmanship

The Yun 212 Gift Box draws inspiration from a road in Gukeng Township, Yunlin, Taiwan — County Road 212. Winding through mist and mountains, this path connects people to the land, becoming the origin of our design journey.

At its core lies the philosophy of Tai Chi — the coexistence and interdependence of Yin and Yang, motion and stillness. The packaging embodies the idea of fusion, echoing the spirit of the product itself. The coaster is crafted from betel nut husks, carbonized, ground into fine powder, and blended with gypsum to form a new material. The interweaving of black and white symbolizes the Tai Chi essence of harmony and continuous renewal.

When paired with pour-over coffee, as hot water meets the grounds, aroma and movement flow like the rhythm of Tai Chi — a balance between stillness and motion, symbolizing coexistence and the natural wisdom of “growing in harmony with one’s surroundings,” deeply rooted in local culture.

Through the warmth of craftsmanship, we reinterpret the value of local materials. Every step is shaped by the artisan’s hands, preserving the texture and breath of the original elements. This gift is more than a tangible offering — it is a quiet dialogue between nature, culture, and the human spirit.
