Light & Serenity redefines the warmth and rhythm of home through the quiet presence of light. This 132-square-meter residence for a couple and their two children transforms an aging apartment into a calm retreat rebuilt from its structure to the way daylight moves through each space. The design centers on living with light, using open circulation and generous windows to let daylight flow between the living room, kitchen, and study. Glass sliding doors maintain visual openness while offering gentle privacy, and grey surfaces paired with warm timber tones shift subtly under the sun, revealing time through layered shadows. Light becomes more than illumination; it shapes the warmth, cadence, and quiet breath of the home.

A soft palette of greys and wood tones forms a stable, calming foundation. A caramel leather sofa anchors the main visual focus, balanced by the cool presence of a slate feature wall. Linear recessed lighting extends the softness of daylight into the evening, while the kitchen and dining area connect through an island that becomes the social core of daily life. The study occupies the brightest point of the home, defined by translucent glass doors that hold both openness and retreat. Sunlight across the desk and piano keys shifts with the hours, offering a quiet corner where reading and music coexist.

The bedrooms carry the home’s grounded calm with soft materials and muted tones, and the bathroom layers stone countertops, dark wall tiles, and wood-grain cabinetry into an understated composition of natural luxury. Technically, the renovation rebuilt the plumbing and electrical systems and introduced a dual-motor ventilation setup that manages fumes and noise in the open kitchen. A windowless bathroom gains daylight through glass blocks, improving ventilation and brightness. Material choices feature low-formaldehyde, eco-certified paint and replaceable system cabinetry, supporting durability, health, and long-term sustainability.
