Curves define the project's design language. Gentle ceiling vaults, rounded window frames, and framed views within niches create a fluid boundary from the entryway to the public areas. The design balances a "cave-like envelopment," which evokes the comfort of returning home, with a "sky-like expansion" that relieves visual tension in the living and dining spaces. Artisan paint, with its fine, misty texture, suggests cloud patterns and allows light to move smoothly across surfaces. Combined with a warm-white ceiling and the soft glow of metallic fixtures, the space achieves a tranquil, gallery-like atmosphere.
The spatial layout centers on the "entry–island–long table" axis, which shapes the home's daily routines. The island counter serves as the main circulation hub, providing a convenient spot to set down belongings and unwind before moving to the long table for activities such as crafting, dining, or work. This axis replaces traditional partitions, creating a multi-functional public area that supports both focused tasks and social gatherings. Purposefully set the bedroom apart from this active zone, creating a private retreat through a calm color palette and a window seat. Streamlined circulation allows the home to adapt naturally to the resident's changing needs.
The project’s sustainability strategy emphasizes reduction and longevity. On the top floor, rock wool insulation in the ceiling helps stabilize indoor temperatures and reduces cooling demand. Durable artisan paint on the walls replaces traditional timber built-ins and layered finishes, making surfaces easier to maintain and reducing the need for future repairs. The open-plan layout removes unnecessary partitions, allowing natural light to reach the living area and reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day. By prioritizing essential dimensions for furniture and cabinetry, the design balances spatial density with material efficiency, achieving a long-term, sustainable living.
