About The Entry

Nestled in the heart of Gushan Scenic Area in Xinfeng County, Jiangxi, Gushan Narada Resort & Spa seamlessly blends leisure tourism with business travel, establishing itself as the region’s first premium garden-style hotel. The design draws inspiration from the nearby Great Sage Temple Pagoda, a thousand-year-old wooden structure known as “the first pagoda in the south of the Yangtze River.” Serving as a cultural anchor, the pagoda inspires a hospitality experience that is deeply rooted in local tradition yet expressed through a modern design lens. Here, guests enjoy a space that balances leisure comfort with business convenience.

The hotel’s aesthetic reflects two defining cultural influences. The first is the pagoda’s mortise-and-tenon joinery, whose structural elegance, layered rhythm, and natural wood grain inform the architecture and material selection. The second is the minimalist sensibility of Song Dynasty aesthetics—embodied in the use of negative space, refined lines, and muted tones—which shapes the interior atmosphere. This is complemented by the traditional concept of “ritual-based hospitality,” guiding guests on a journey from arrival to accommodation that feels both graceful and logically sequenced. In addition, the poetic ambience of Xinfeng’s “Eight Historic Scenes” is subtly woven into functional areas, strengthening the bond between the space and its natural and cultural surroundings.

Committed to creating a truly distinctive garden-style destination, the project moves beyond conventional hotel typologies by drawing deeply on Xinfeng’s history, geography, and cultural spirit. Technical adaptability and operational synergy underpin every phase of development, with sustainability embedded throughout the project’s lifecycle. Guided by the principle of “thoughtful investment, precise expression,” the design eschews decorative excess in favor of authentic cultural references and meticulously refined details—ensuring each space is both memorable and uniquely evocative of Xinfeng. By realizing its core vision—to empower space through culture and convey emotion through design—the resort offers guests an immersive experience where nature and heritage intertwine in quiet harmony.
