RedDot Hotel 2.0

RedDot Hotel, founded in 2014 in a historic district of Taichung, was formerly the GALAXY Hotel, built in 1979, with 46 years of history. Over the past decade, customer feedback has highlighted issues such as limited public space, growing demand for family rooms, and poor lighting, which became the motivation for this renovation.
Building on the hotel’s established foundation, we boldly pursued innovation in collaboration with Page Tsou, an award-winning artist from the Bologna World Illustration Awards, for a rare cross-disciplinary interior renovation. Drawing on the artist’s unique insights into the brand, we emphasized the core values of "fun" and "experience," introducing the “Toy Store for Adults” concept — a playful yet refined space designed to delight both adults and children. Meanwhile, the brand’s signature “red” and “dot” motifs were accentuated, creating a vibrant, brand-aligned atmosphere that stands out from the ordinary.
In this renovation, we deliberately avoided excessive modernization to preserve the building’s historical and cultural character. Through thoughtful spatial adaptation, we extend the building’s life and contribute to the cultural regeneration of the city.
