About The Entry

Saudi Arabia Nairyah 1 1800MW CCPP EPC Project represents a new standard in sustainable power generation, delivering efficient, clean, and reliable electricity to the regional grid while fostering a safe and human-centered working environment.

The project’s core innovation lies in its advanced gas-steam combined cycle technology, which captures high-temperature exhaust from the gas turbines to power a secondary steam cycle, significantly enhancing overall energy efficiency. To balance operational performance with stringent safety, the facility is clearly zoned according to production, personnel, and logistics flows. Key zones include the main power block, auxiliary facilities, non-production areas, and a dedicated carbon capture section, all centrally monitored and intelligently dispatched through an integrated control building.

The overall layout and configuration reflect a deeply human-centered approach. High-risk operational zones are physically separated from offices and rest areas, ensuring clear safety boundaries. This protection is further reinforced by an automated fire safety system, complete with suppression, alarm, and evacuation guidance, establishing a robust, multi-layered safety framework. For day-to-day comfort, workspaces are equipped with forced ventilation to maintain optimal temperature and humidity, while control rooms and offices incorporate anti-glare lighting and noise reduction features to ensure visual comfort and a quiet, focused working environment.

Built with a durable combination of reinforced concrete and hot-dip galvanized steel for superior corrosion resistance and seismic resilience, the plant is designed to operate reliably under demanding conditions. Its architecture features clean, sleek geometric forms and a thoughtful contrast of metal and concrete finishes, creating a rational and robust industrial identity.

The project demonstrates its sustainability commitment through an integrated water management system that harvests rainwater and recycles wastewater, creating a closed-loop process for efficient resource use. Equipped with advanced combined cycle technology, the plant delivers reliable power while substantially reducing carbon emissions. More than just an energy facility, it serves as a blueprint for the clean energy transition, proving that industrial progress and environmental stewardship can advance together.
