Columbian Circle Phasell

"This project comprises five multi-story buildings interconnected by elevated corridors, creating a dynamic and layered layout. The lighting concept draws inspiration from the idea of a ""borderless community,"" transforming the space into an urban jungle where light blurs the boundaries between architecture and nature, redefining the spatial relationship between people and their surroundings. Rather than emphasizing the light fixtures themselves, the design highlights the openness and layered quality of the environment, evoking a sense of relaxation reminiscent of a forest in the city.

Guided by architectural and landscape structures, the lighting at main entrances and pathways incorporates waffle-patterned fixtures that echo the segmented forms of the buildings, ensuring clear wayfinding at night. To alleviate the sense of density caused by narrow building spacing, light is directed toward greenery along the elevated walkways, enhancing both visual depth and engagement. Movable planter boxes are paired with oversized table lamp-style fixtures, while distinctive wall lamps between buildings and tailored lighting for various plants collectively build the ""urban forest"" atmosphere, adding delightful surprises and fostering relaxation.

On the top floors, softly illuminated building corners—achieved with strategically placed uplights—mimic the gentle glow of moonlight. This play of light and shadow reinforces the architectural form, ensuring the entire campus embodies the urban forest experience.

Throughout the project, lighting is seamlessly integrated with architecture and landscape, inviting people to slow down and reconnect with nature within this vibrant city oasis"
