About The Entry
Against the backdrop of the global ice and snow sports boom—fueled by the Beijing Winter Olympics—alpine skiing has gained unprecedented popularity, yet it carries substantial knee injury risks. Data shows over half of injured skiers are 20-29-year-olds with 1-3 years of experience, and traditional gear fails to address core pain points: insufficient protection, poor comfort, and lack of real-time guidance.
SkiGuard IntelliTights, an innovative intelligent wearable, solves these gaps by integrating flexible sensors, ergonomic design, and a companion app. Its hardware combines IMU inertial measurement units (32g acceleration range, <5ms response) and flexible pressure sensors (0.3mm thickness, 10g-10kg range) to detect posture in real time. The ergonomic structure, tailored to the knee joint’s -10°~135° flexion/extension range, uses high-elastic knitted fabric and lightweight engineering plastic to support knees and lower limbs without restricting movement. Functionally, it alerts users to improper form via lights or vibrations, syncs ski data (speed, posture, duration) to the app for in-depth analysis, and aids skill refinement. User-centric details—adjustable waist knobs, matte-textured protective pads—balance safety, comfort, and aesthetics. By merging proactive injury prevention, real-time technical guidance, and user-friendly design, SkiGuard IntelliTights transforms alpine skiing from a high-risk sport to a safer, more fulfilling experience, setting a new standard for smart ski gear.
