About The Entry

Inspired by the architectural philosophy of Tadao Ando, the master architect, and his reverence for nature, this project embraces the poetic interplay of light and materials. Adjustable wooden lattice partitions and zebra blinds allow daylight to shift freely with the atmosphere, becoming a medium that reflects the rich textures of warm wood veneer, solid marble, and sleek paint finishes. These elements together compose a living canvas of light and shadow, adding layers of gentle movement to daily life. Meanwhile, the delicate sharpness of titanium-coated metal accents subtly melts into the space’s overall calm, harmonized by tinted-glass display cabinets with under-shelf lighting that illuminate collectible figures and express the homeowner’s refined taste. The result is a serene, tactile, and richly atmospheric Japanese-inspired retreat.

Rooted in the design concept of “family connection and effortless living,” the plan incorporates integrated circulation and multi-core functionality to achieve balanced fluidity between shared and private areas.

In the public space, the study is positioned beside the open-plan living and dining area, allowing the homeowner to work from home while keeping an eye on the child. Adjacent to it, a translucent Japanese-style sliding door subtly defines the dining and kitchen zone, enabling smooth visual communication during cooking. The island counter, equipped with an IH stove, and the full-length sideboard further enhance meal preparation during interactions and teamwork in the kitchen. The overall spatial strategy replaces rigid partitions with “horizontal continuity”, improving both movement and sightlines while fostering natural family bonding—a home where conversations and laughter flow effortlessly.

For the private area, the designer gives special attention to the needs of new parents. At the master bedroom entrance, a compact baby-care station is thoughtfully integrated with shelving, a countertop, and power outlets, enabling functional zoning according to usage frequency and shortening the distance for childcare tasks. The warm palette of wood and stone harmonizes with the bedroom’s atmosphere, transforming the conventional notion of a cluttered nursery into an elegant, efficient corner that balances practicality with visual grace.
