Suzhou — where ancient grace meets contemporary rhythm. The refinement of its gardens, the soft cadence of pingtan melodies, and the poetic geometry of lattice windows together distill a thousand years of cultural resonance and poetic living.
Conceived as The House of Forest Retreat, the project draws upon the spatial order of traditional Suzhou architecture. By harmonizing natural landscapes with honest materials, it creates a tranquil haven — elegant, unassuming, and quietly refined — a place of peace within the city’s vibrant pulse.
In the dialogue between light and shadow, presence and void, the design unfolds a contemplative spatial narrative — a poetic journey through four chapters of living: Dwelling, Gathering, Resting, and Realm.
