Located in a rare high-end resort zone between lake and mountain, the project is conceived as a new-generation landmark residence embedded in an exceptional ecological environment. Drawing inspiration from Yunnan’s dramatic vertical elevation differences, the design breaks away from the conventional logic of flat landscapes and redefines the site as a “three-dimensional garden,” where greenery grows vertically, ecosystems overlap, and spatial experience unfolds across multiple layers.
From snow-capped peaks to deep valleys, the landscape is translated into an immersive spatial sequence through vertically connected gardens, flowing visual corridors, and sculptural terrain. The architectural and landscape language resonates with the spatial philosophies of modern masters, integrating the poetic interplay of light and shadow, fluid geometries, and a strong sense of order into a contemporary and timeless spatial composition.
Three key innovations define the project. First, a fully integrated above-ground and underground three-dimensional arrival and garden system breaks the limitations of planar space, creating a continuous and immersive spatial journey. Second, a cultural and experiential landscape is formed through a series of symbolic spaces—such as sculptural landmarks, canyon-like light corridors, and elevated walkways—interwoven with tea pavilions and garden islands, where each step reveals a new scene. Third, a dual arrival system combines a ceremonial above-ground sequence with a hotel-style underground drop-off loop, maximizing landscape penetration and spatial efficiency within limited land resources.
The project also addresses the technical challenges of complex three-dimensional landscape construction through precise digital modeling, parametric design, and high-precision fabrication techniques. Nearly 200 carefully selected trees and numerous rare plant species are preserved and transplanted with scientific methods, ensuring both ecological value and long-term vitality.
Sustainability is embedded through the preservation of native vegetation, the use of local plant species, a high greening ratio, and rainwater recycling systems. The vertical garden system further enhances microclimate regulation and ecological resilience, allowing nature, architecture, and human experience to coexist in a dynamic and enduring landscape.
