The site is a newly completed apartment designed for a modern family. While the pace of daily life is fast, the homeowners did not wish to compress their living space into a purely functional accumulation. Starting from the concept of “harmony between elegance and layering,” the designer responded to the homeowners’ expectations for a high-quality lifestyle by translating the refined design of a five-star hotel into a space suitable for long-term living.
A neutral color palette establishes the overall foundation, while carefully orchestrated metallic lines, stone textures, and layered lighting create depth through subtlety. Within a limited floor area, light, materials, and daily living layers are thoughtfully placed, allowing the space to reveal richness without excess and calm without monotony.
Upon entering the residence, the first visual turn naturally leads the eye to the sofa backdrop in the living room. Recognizing its significance, the designer transformed this wall into the primary visual axis of the public space. Leather-textured panels form the main surface, complemented by asymmetrically arranged titanium-plated metal trims that divide the wall into geometric segments. These lines create a rhythmic cadence across the surface, resembling moments where light pauses and extends.
The second focal point is the television wall, designed as a floating volume. By combining stone-textured panels, vertical slats, and indirect lighting, the wall intentionally retains a sense of visual “breathing space,” allowing the mass to appear light while encouraging the gaze to extend naturally beyond it.
The dining and kitchen areas maintain an open plan, with furniture placement subtly defining each zone. A fluted glass sliding door connects the staircase to the social area, achieving a balanced interplay between transparency and privacy. Linear metallic elements continue into the bedroom headboards, ensuring that the design language remains consistent throughout the home while avoiding visual repetition.
